Campaign Story
Amidst the bustling heartbeat of the city, a powerful story of love, faith, and unwavering family bonds unfolds. At its heart is the patriarch of our family, Alfredo B. Santos Jr. or fondly called as Freddy. A 79-year-old Architect whose life epitomizes values of kindness, resilience, and an unbreakable faith in God.
But life for our family took an unexpected turn as my father was hospitalized and initially diagnosed for septic pneumonia. However, results of his biopsy from nodes found in his lungs reveal that he has, what the doctors call, poorly differentiated carcinoma with metastases to bone. His cancer advanced to Stage 4 already and he is currently hospitalized at The Medical City, Philippines. This marked the beginning of a daunting battle against illness, one he confronted with the same determination, creativity, and spirit he brought to his architectural designs.
Our mounting medical bills, now currently totaling an overwhelming P2.3 million, has placed an immense strain on our family's modest finances. But united by the values our parents instilled in us, me and my sisters now stand together, our unity reflecting the lessons of love, faith, and resilience our father has taught.
Yet, our family knows adversity well. In 1997, we suffered the tragic loss of their beloved son, our brother. He succumbed to thymoma cancer at the young age of 25. I was just 18 back then and enjoying life in college. And this heartrending experience underscored life's fragility and the importance of treasuring every moment with loved ones.
For nearly 55 years, my father and mother shared an unwavering faith, their relationship a living testament to the strength that arises from facing challenges together. Now, as he battles illness, their bond is tested, and they rely on the same faith that has seen them through decades of life's trials.
A dedicated father and adoring grandfather, he dedicated himself to providing for his family. His modest architectural business was more than just a profession—it symbolized his commitment to securing a better education and promising future for his loved ones. His generosity knew no bounds; he selflessly supported us, his children and grandchildren, often foregoing his retirement savings to ensure our well-being.
Today, faced with this health crisis, we find ourselves humbly seeking assistance. It's an unfamiliar position—one that underscores our vulnerability while reaffirming our enduring strength. My father, our rock, now leans on your compassion and those of others, highlighting the circle of life's challenges.
With our plea for support, we turn to the world, sharing our story with the hope of finding compassionate souls willing to extend a helping hand. Our appeal reaches beyond financial relief; it's a tribute to a life well-lived, a love that transcends time, and a man whose existence has been defined by selflessness.
In the digital era, our narrative traverses' boundaries, touching people from diverse backgrounds. Social media's power and communal empathy converge, as we are hoping to spark a wave of donations from around the world. Relying on humanity's innate goodness and compassion's boundless reach.
As the days turn into weeks, our family hopes to witness the transformative impact of collective kindness. We hope that my father's towering medical bills slowly shrink, and the weight on our shoulders gradually lifted. Yet, beyond the financial relief, what will resonate most is the sense of connection that blossoms—an affirmation that even in life's darkest moments, we are not alone.
Amidst my father's ongoing battle, my family finds solace in his and our mother's unbreakable faith. Their trust in God's grace is unwavering, a beacon of hope in uncertain times. The lessons of love, unity, and resilience, combined with my parents' enduring faith, drive us forward.
As we navigate this journey, my family remains unwavering, fortified by values and humbly asking for the support of a compassionate world. Our story is one of a modest architect, his steadfast faith, his family's enduring love, and a global community that will behind him. We hope to demonstrate the limitless capacity of the human spirit to triumph over even the most daunting trials.
Today, we appeal to you, kind-hearted souls, to stand with us. Every contribution, no matter how small, serves as a lifeline in this critical time. Together, we can transform our story of adversity into a testament of human compassion and unity. Your generosity can make a profound difference in our lives, allowing us to focus on what truly matters: healing, unity, and cherished moments with our beloved father.

Father's Passing
Update posted by Santos Family The at 11:30 pmThroughout this challenging journey, our hospital bills swelled to an overwhelming 3.2 million pesos. While our father has found peace, our family is now grappling with the financial burden left behind expenses related to his medical care, end-of-life arrangements, and other unforeseen costs associated with his passing. Our father's selflessness. . . . .
