Please Save My Brother-in-Law: Hoang Phuong

Hoang Phuong is my brother-in-law, who's from a small town named Thai Hoa town, Nghe An province, Vietnam. He currently works in Busan, Korea.

He was hit in a serious car accident about 2 weeks ago that resulted in a terrible brain injury. He was recently admitted into the ICU at 한마음병원 in Busan and is undergoing treatment.

Due to a blood clot in his brain, he is currently in a vegetative state: unable to speak, move his body, or even get up. We were able to sustain the expenses for his hospitalisation so far by gathering what little money we had. His prolonged stay in the ICU is driving up the costs much faster than what we can pay.

Hence, we seek your help as it looks like there's not a lot we can gather considering the fact that we don't have much to begin with. The total hospital bill was around $11,000.

My sister (his wife) was unable to get a visa to stay by his side. Thankfully, his brother managed to go to Korea to take care of him. He has informed us that the hospital expenses are going to be steep, and we should prepare for it.

My sister is a nurse who earns $290 per month and is the mother to a daughter, who is 3. Ever since their daughter was born, she never met her father as he had to work overseas in Korea. My father owns a small carpentry workshop. My mother is a retiree and now helps my sister in taking care of her daughter. I am an accountant working in Singapore. I have been trying my best to take care of my family's need while paying off my own student loans.

At this point we're doing our best to arrange what little money we can to cover the expenses, but given what we have, I do not think it would be enough. I hope with all my heart that people can help us in some way or the other.
