Your little help goes a long way.

I would like to seek help for my mom to fight and survive Breast Cancer Stage 3C.

Last October 2018, we rushed my mother Lourdes Bayangos, to one of the provincial hospitals in Bulacan because she had a hard time breathing because of severe pain caused by breast wound. She was given necessary pain reliever but we eventually transferred her to JP Sioson General Hospital in Quezon City because the hospital we rushed her to didn’t have enough facilities to do the needed test for her. She underwent Biopsy and after few days, we were discharged and billed in the hospital for P45,000+ after Philhealth and senior citizen’s discounts. My mother is 70 years old, lives in Sta. Maria Bulacan, single mother after my father died in 1999. After result of biopsy and series of tests, she was diagnosed with Stage 3C Invasive Ductal Carcinoma or Breast Cancer Stage 3C with Diabetes Mellitus. She was given take home medications but on second week of November, we rushed her again to the hospital because the pain relievers that were prescribed to her didn’t have enough effect to tolerate the pain so she was again confined and was given higher dosages of pain relievers and antibiotics and we were billed in the hospital for P30,000+ after discounts. After few consults from Dr. Raquel Ecarma, Internal Medicine Infectious Disease, Dr. Joy Galang, General Surgeon and Dr. Frederick Roque, Oncologist, we were advised that she needs to undergo Chemotherapy. After 8 Chemotherapy cycles, she will undergo a major operation Mastectomy and series of RadioTherapy sessions and other tests.

She underwent 8 Chemotherapy cycles at the East Avenue Medical Center under her Oncologist Dr. Frederick Roque, she got her last cycle in April 2019. Good thing was we were just paying for the Professional fee because we reach out to PCSO to cover the medicine and supplies for the procedure. Her PF costs 3,500 per cycle and around P5000-7000 for take home meds depending on her sugar and creatinine level. She was prescribed with Insulin for her diabetes and costs P2,700 per vial. We were able to cope with the expenses on her chemo with shares from my family and because of some help from friends and relatives and colleagues who really helped me fund for her by selling their preloved stuff.

Last May 10, 2019, she has successfully undergone her major operation (Mastectomy) wherein it needed to extract her entire left breast ending up with an open wound because the left breast was entirely infected up to the breast’s skin. We were billed in the same hospital for net P118,360 less senior citizens and Philhealth discounts. We are very grateful for her doctors who gave huge discounts on their professional fees.

Next will be her series of Radiotherapy which according to her Oncologist Dr. Roque, there will be 75 everyday sessions except weekends. We don’t have any idea how much would it cost but we were advised by the doctor that it might range from P75,000 to P100,000. She is now recovering from her operation. She also needs to do Er pr her2 test to check if the Cancer type is reactive or non-reactive.

Her expenses are piling up and our debts as well. We haven’t paid the last hospital bill because we are still paying the bill from her last confinement. I was one of the employees of the company back in 2014 and I reached out to the management if we can pay the bill in installments. We signed a promissory note that we will pay all accountabilities in their terms.

I am selling some goods like desserts and sandwiches in the office to cover consultation fees and transportation fees for her series of follow up doctors’ appointments. The company I currently work at is also trying to help their employees who are sick by organizing a small food bazaar, it also helps me cover for the wound care. But I cannot rely to them of course because they also have their own obligations and responsibilities with their own families.

Please help us extend my mother’s life with her family especially with her grandchildren . I am seeking any financial help from your heart so we can pay our debts in the hospital and also to prepare for her upcoming series of Radiotherapy. I have 5 siblings but they have their families of their own and I am the only single among them. I am appealing to anyone to please help me save my mom from this dreadful disease. She raised us as a single mom after my father died and I can’t afford to lose her not doing anything I can to let her live longer. I am earning money enough to survive daily living but I am really struggling to fund for my mother’s medications. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

For those who want to help, you may reach me thru my email [email protected] or text me to +639088740989. You can also deposit directly thru my BPI account Vermie Bayangos S/A # 0279-0107-87.

I really appreciate everyone who take their time to read and help me through this journey. May God bless you more and I pray that you and your families are always safe.

-her daughter
