Please help me pay my cat, Goldie's medical bills. Goldie is a four-year-old domestic cat my family member brought home when I was still 12 years old, one day she was suddenly abandoned by the one that brought her home and from then on I provided her basic needs from my allowance . I am still a student and my parents are apathetic towards her so they don't support me in my cats' expenses. I've noticed Goldie's belly bloating and I can feel her organs when I touch it. I already took her to the vet last month but they said it is nothing to worry about, but now her situation got worse and that visit to the vet costed me all my savings (because she gave Goldie vitamins for nursing her kittens). I really think that I should take her to the vet already but am still having a hard time borrowing money form my parents and because I am still under aged, I cannot apply for a part-time job yet. Please help us, if this campaign gets more that what we have to pay, we will donate the rest to animal shelters here in the Philippines.

  • I saw your update and I feel so bad that you had to give Goldie away. It makes my eyes well up if I think of myself in your situation. I hope this little donation reaches you, so that you can at least pay some of the debt that you got into for saving Goldie. Good luck with your studies... pls persevere with them as education really is the only way out of poverty, and keep practicing your English as there are so many resources to help young people achieve good grades but they tend to be predominantly in English (I'm also a 2nd language speaker). Whenever you feel like giving up on your studies just remember Goldie and let this bittersweet experience give you the push to carry on, turn it into a positive. Remember that you are only young, so you may be able to have and care for another kitty in the future, maybe even get Goldie back herself. God bless you and Goldie. X

Goldie was taken to the vet again

Update posted by Anne Nicolas at 01:39 pm

Today Goldie was not feeling well. She hid under my bed and wouldn't go out even to eat. Fortunately I managed to get her out and bring her with me to the vet.I spent a part of the money you've donated on this carrier. Anyway, I managed to bring her. . . . .

Update on Goldie

Update posted by Anne Nicolas at 07:22 am

Today, Goldie is still healing. I'm still seeing the results of her deworming and it is noticable how her belly shrunk from its initial size, especially if you saw her old photos.now it really just seems like an aftermath of her giving birth. Of course, I'm still observing her. The. . . . .

Update!

Update posted by Anne Nicolas at 12:49 pm

Hi, earlier today Goldie took a dewormer again. I've noticed that she's still a bit bloated sometimes especially after eating and made her drink the medicine that the vet gave her previously. She's better now. She's very active and she also eats a LOT. Part of it may be because. . . . .

  • Hello! I'm sorry to hear about Goldie's sickness. I'm afraid I can't give much, but I hope this helps, at least just a little bit. I too am a student with a cat. She had a tooth infection years ago, and I remember hard it was to pay for the treatment as a younger student. You are not alone.
