Please Help Me Save My Father

Hi, my name is Jasper Espinosa I'm the son of Bienvinido Espinosa Sr.

My father has been in and out of the hospital since the last week of August this year due to stroke and recently for kidney failure. When he had a stroke last August, a few days prior before the admission we noticed that he was very disoriented and he said that his vision was affected. He can't speak clearly and the other side of his mouth was paralyzed. We rushed to the hospital and found out that he had a stroke. Part for his brain which was responsible for speech was badly affected that's why we can't understand any words that's coming out from his mouth. Luckily no operation was needed, he was only advised to take the medicine prescribed by the doctors and stayed in the hospital for two weeks.

We were able to cover the bills at that time since we had insurance, PhilHealth and senior citizen discount. Fast forward to October 22, we noticed that my father was having difficulty in breathing, he can't get up and very weak to even respond when we try to talk to him. We decided to bring him to the emergency room to have him checked to see if there are any complications that resulted from the prior stroke. The doctor on duty informed us that it was due to kidney failure and pneumonia. My dad's creatinine level was at 13 as compared to the normal 1.0 - 1.5 as explained by the doctor.

He had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since his condition needs urgent medical assistance. Before he was transferred to the ICU we had pay for emergency room fees and other fees which was Php 100,000.00 or USD 2,127.00 minus insurance we only paid Php 60,000.00 or USD 1,277.00. From that point we already used up the insurance and already borrowed a huge amount of money from my cousins.

The daily rate in the ICU was at Php 4,000 or USD 85.00 per day plus the lab test and medicine prescriptions at the average amounting to Php 5,000.00 or USD 106.00. Also we had to pay for the dialysis 3 times a week which is at Php 5,000.00 or USD 106.00 per session and all other expenses.

The doctor has also recommended an operation to get phlegm from his lungs, since he's not able to expel phlegm by himself because of the stroke. However, being short in funds, my family and I decided to postpone the operation, and get a second opinion from another physician or hospital. I know my father is experiencing a lot of pain, with many tubes/medical equipment connected to his body, our prayer is to get him out from the hospital and find a second opinion that might spare him from the operation but still lead to the same positive outcome.

I am knocking on your benevolent hearts to please help me save my father, we did not grow up with wealth and my father has to do hard labor, from being a driver to selling fried chicken just to get my siblings and I a college diploma. We have exhausted all efforts - got a loan, used up our savings and asked our relatives and friends for any financial aid, but it's still not enough.

I am praying that whoever is reading this, may you share your blessings with us. Your dollar could help my father get back home and get the second opinion we are hoping to get. This year has been so challenging to say the least, I'm sure not just for us but for everyone, but I hope that we will be able to get through this with our family intact and my father well. I can assure you that all proceeds is going to the medical bill. Attached is my father's medical bill for your reference.
