Dear potential donors,

My name is Samuel Mohauheloa Mokete, and I am a 22-year-old filmmaker from Lesotho. I recently graduated from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with a diploma in Film Production. Throughout my studies, I gained valuable experience and developed a passion for using my talents to create meaningful and entertaining content which some of is presented in the visual slides on this campaign page (Short film, promotion ad, and skits of which none were for commercial purposes but experimental). I have a concrete plan to build a career in filmmaking, advertising, and photography, but I need your help to make it a reality.

Please help me raise $1000 to purchase an affordable DSLR camera and a core i5 laptop suitable for editing software (Premier Pro) installation, which will allow me to create high-quality videos and edit them to my specifications. These tools will be instrumental in helping me achieve my goals and make my vision a reality.

I have made connections with several companies and NGOs that could benefit from my skills, and with the right equipment, I could help them achieve their goals, as well as make a living and save up my incomes to afford continuing my studies in 2024 August (Academic intake).

I plan on using my skills to make a living, while also helping others to tell their stories and spread their messages. With your support, I could make a real difference in the lives of those around me. For instance, I have seen a lot of devastation around here- people living in uncomfortable situations, hunger issues, students bunking schools and consuming drugs as well as carrying weapons, and I have tried to reach out to some NGOs to intervene or help such cases, but I have been demanded visual proof and gathered content of such witnessed tragedies for them to really help, and with a camera I will help make a difference by connecting desperate people with help from relevant organization through providing visuals proof.

This can also help my humanitarian blog 'Africa Charity' (Please visit- https://www.facebook.com/HeavenlyAid to view my blog) not only share content from NGOs such as the United Nations agencies, World Vision, Red Cross, etc; but also share original content captured by yours truly in my country, that means I will be starting a career as a humanitarian crisis and disasters journalist in southern Africa capturing content to share on my blog and work hand in hand with these major NGOs offices from around here.

In addition to earning an income and helping others, there are several other benefits to having my own DSLR camera. Firstly, it would allow me to build my portfolio and demonstrate my skills to potential clients. Secondly, it would give me the flexibility to work on my own schedule and take on projects that align with my values like documentaries, shooting short films to help up-and-coming actors build their portfolios and giving these individuals the opportunity to be filmed in high-quality video, I could help them to break into the industry and achieve their own goals; creating ads for major companies and SMMEs.

All of these factors add up to one simple truth: having a professional camera would be a game-changer for my career. I would appreciate any contribution you make to help my fundraiser and change my life, as well as help shape my future.

HERE IS HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED:

1. A core i3 laptop at game stores (game.coza) costs between R6,000 and R7,500, which is equals to $400

2. A Canon 3000D DSLR video camera at Makro stores (makro.co.za) costs R10,300, which is equals to $573

All together these round up to $973, the remaining balance will cover extras such as SD Cards, and
