Hello there!

This summer I have 3 weeks dedicated to Nursing 'electives' as part of my course, which means we get to choose and organise some time working anywhere in the world in any speciality as a Nurse! Though these are optional I have decided to push the boat out and go to Nepal in order to see how an extremely different culture to ours handles healthcare and hopefully contribute as much as possible to helping to heal people in one of the poorest countries in the world. I am doing this with a company called 'Work the World' and have already saved about 1000 pounds but I expect the full cost of the trip to be 2000-2500 pounds so I need some help!

I have already run 15km for charity this year and hope to increase that with another 5km run, and I am giving up alcoholic beverages for the entirety of June after the watershed moment that was my 21st birthday... Finally and Most Importantly I will be attempting the National 3 Peaks Challenge on the 4th of July as a last big push for money and a memorable few days. So please, please donate; the deity of your choice will smile upon you

.Charity work in an Orphanage in South India

I will be working in the main general hospital in Kathmandu (The Capital City of Nepal) and hope to assist in and see as much care as I can while I'm there. I am grateful for any help anybody can offer me to avoid getting into debt just so I can volunteer and try to help people :)

Thanks for your time!
Piers

  • Bad luck with the passport woes mate. Nepal is a pretty damn important place to me and Kathmandu's main hospital saved my neck last time I was out there. I hope you get a chance to do your elective next year! Either way, best of luck with everything.
