Campaign Story
On April 13, 2021, my 9-month-old baby Alaric was diagnosed with Osteomyelitis.
It started on March 21 when Alaric had recurring fevers and a convulsion, occurring within the past 3 weeks until today, April 14. Alaric first spent 2 weeks inside a hospital in Bulacan. Every trial of intravenous(IV) line injections on his arms and legs led into severe swellings on the said body parts, hence, his IV was cutdown injected in the neck. He became half conscious and unable to move the lower part of his body due to high fevers and swellings.
He was then diagnosed with a blood infection, Meningitis, and Abscess and underwent his first surgery last April 8, 2021 to remove all the pus, uncertainly caused by Septic Arthritis. The surgery intended to avoid further infection from his blood spreading to his bones. Unfortunately, there were still some remaining on his groin resulting with a hose connected to his legs. On a positive note, his meningitis was cleared and the blood infection was reduced.
To attain better findings and results, the doctors suggested for him to transfer in St. Lukes Medical Center on April 12.
With his transfer, Alaric had an ultrasound and an x-ray, exposing his already dislocated left leg caused by his inability to move. Though frightening, the dislocation may be treated with proper therapy and medication. It is also confirmed that everything was caused by Septic arthritis. Due to his worsen septic arthritis condition, it has led to osteomyelitis, meaning the infection has already reached his bones.
Today, April 14, Alaric will undergo another surgery to drain the remaining abscesses in his thigh and correct his dislocated bone. We all wanted the best for him, however, our financial capability and prayers may not be sufficient to cover all the expenses for his recovery. In this we ask of help, of charity, and of pure hearts, to help our family support Alaric's medication all the way to his fullest healing. The money that we will receive from your donations will be spent on his medical bills and recovery treatments. Every bit of aid and encouragement is worth an infinite times of gratitude from us.
Through your simplest charity and prayers, you become a glimmer of hope for our family, most especially for Alaric's young world. We are in absolute gratefulness and appreciation in helping our dearest Alaric with his recovery. May God bless you with abundant blessings!
