Cami are 29 de ani și a fost diagnosticată cu o tumoare pe creier foarte agresivă, numită medulloblastoma desmoplastic. Ea este în stadiul 4 și are nevoie urgentă de ajutor medical.

În urmă cu patru săptămâni, Cami a fost operată pentru a i se scoate tumoare de pe creier.

Pentru a plăti pentru acea operație, familia s-a împrumutat de 10.000 USD.

În timp ce a fost în spital, înainte de operație, fiul ei în vârstă de 19 luni, Matias

a trebuit să fie înțărcat. I-a fost foarte greu fără ea și a plâns mult.

Vă puteți imagina să fiți pe un pat de spital întrebându-vă cât mai aveți de trăit și ce se va întâmpla cu bebelușul vostru? A fost sfâșietor pentru Cami și familia ei să trăiască având aceste întrebări.

Operația pentru a înlătura tumoare a decurs foarte bine, așa că există speranțe mari ca, primind mai mult tratament special, Cami să își revină.

Cu chimioterapie obișnuită, doar 35% dintre toți oamenii care au cancer la creier vor supraviețui cinci ani – dar un nou tip de terapie, numită terapie cu radiații cu proton, funcționează mult mai bine în cazul cancerului la creier agresiv.

Acest nou tip de terapie va reduce expunerea la radiații a țesuturilor ei sănătoase din creier. În cazul lui Cami, este foarte important ca părțile sănătoase ale creierului ei să fie protejate împotriva radiațiilor.

Această asistență medicală specială nu este disponibilă în România, așadar va trebui să stea în Italia timp de până la 8 săptămâni pentru a primi tratamentul corespunzător.

Ne așteptăm ca totul să coste 100.000 USD. Aceasta este în plus față de tot ceea ce a plătit deja familia ei pentru operație.

Cami trebuie să înceapă tratamentul până în data de 20 SEPTEMBRIE, așadar donația voastră este necesară cât mai curând posibil.

Cami is 29 years old and has been diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor called medulloblastoma desmoplastic. She is at stage 4 and needs immediate medical help.

Four weeks ago, Cami underwent surgery to have the brain tumor removed.

In order to pay for that surgery, her family borrowed in excess of $10,000 US dollars.

While she was in the hospital, prior to the surgery, her 19-month-old son Matias had to be weaned. He had a very hard time without her and cried a lot.

Can you imagine lying in a hospital bed wondering how long you have left to live, and what will happen to your baby? It has been heart-wrenching for Cami and her family to live with these questions.

The surgery to remove the tumor went very well, so there is great hope that with further special treatment, Cami will recover.

With regular chemotherapy, only 35% of all people with brain cancer will survive the next five years – but a new type of therapy, called proton radiation therapy, works much better with aggressive brain cancers.

This new type of therapy will decrease radiation exposure to her healthy brain tissues. In Cami’s case, it is very important for the healthy parts of her brain to be protected from radiation.

This special medical care is not available in Romania, so she will need to be in Italy for up to 8 weeks to receive this appropriate treatment.

The total cost is expected to be $100,000 US dollars. This cost is in addition to all that her family has already spent for the surgery.

The treatments for Cami need to begin by 20 SEPTEMBER, so your donation is needed as soon as possible.
