Hi! My Dear internet friends,   

Ms. Sangay Choden was once like us before she underwent total hip replacement surgery on 16th september, 2008 under general anesthesia.  She was 24 years old when she was diagnosed with “Developmental Dysplastic Hip” on her right hip.  She had been facing difficulty in walking for 3 years before the above surgery.  Here is the list of management done during her hip replacement:

1. Acetabular rimmed and recreated, size 44 mm, exter cup cemented in as acetabular was too symmetric for an uncemented cup.

2. Femoral canal very tight, CDH – stem used with cement, 8mm cement – restricter centraliser without wings. Small crack at neck held with stainless steel wire. Size 0/28 mm head. Adductorenotomy done – hip reduced, stable.

After the surgery, she was advised to take complete rest at home and sit on floor on low chairs, knee squat and rely on liberal fluid intake. 

It has now started to cause acute pain in her hip that is very suffering and this pain won’t go away simply without another surgery, as even the medicines are of no use.  She still can’t walk and sit properly, as her right hip is not strong enough to support her movement.  She and her family would be very happy if she can get an opportunity to undergo another surgery to relieve the pain, even if she can’t get back to normal life like us. We enquire one of the hospitals in Australia and came to know that the cost of surgery is very expensive and unfortunately she can’t afford as she is from poor-family background. Therefore, please help her relieve this long-lasting pain by contributing any amount of donation you can afford, with which she will be able to undergo another better surgery to relieve the pain.  She told us she feels very unhappy because she can’t walk and sit properly like other people do, moreover the pain is unbearable.
