Open Your Heart to Zimbabwe Lock Down

For the great majority of people in Zimbabwe, life before COVID-19 was fraught with many hardships; run-away inflation, grave unemployment, inadequate and acutely under-supplied medical facilities, frequent electricity and water cuts, with a severe drought to top off this critical situation.

We all know too well from our very own personal experience of "sheltering in place", what a challenge this time has been, but we have been lucky!

Just imagine that you had 2 days to prepare for lockdown, do not have transport or the means to buy supplies or have access to soap and water to ensure standards of hygiene.
And imagine if you had no "shelter" in place.

The world as we know it has been turned upside down, and it seems the more circumstances conspire to push us apart, the harder we push back and find ways to get together and help those who need it.
Here is where you come in.

Born and bred in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, I now live overseas where I have made my home, but a BIG part of my heart is still in Africa.

Over the years, and with the amazing generosity of special hearts, through various charity projects in Zimbabwe, I have done whatever I could to make a difference to the lives of those in need.

A few days ago having heard from a Bulawayo friend "that people are more afraid of dying of starvation than from COVID-19", it became clear that I had to act again and quickly!

My call for action is to those of you who have also left a piece of their heart in Africa or simply want to keep Africa's heart beating, and this appeal for your support and donations is on behalf of those who can't ask for themselves.

The aim of this fundraiser is to raise money for essential supplies, for at-risk people, disabled, homeless, child-headed households and those that have no where to turn for assistance.

I have identified on the ground, based in Bulawayo and Harare, trustworthy management and organizations, who are doing phenomenal work, who have the infrastructure and ability to reach where help is needed most with full accountability and transparency and all details will be made public.
