My daughter, KATE MARYNEL BERNAL, was diagnosed with VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECT (VSD) at the age of 8 days old. The attending cardiologists advised us that she need to undergo surgery to correct the problem. Due to lack of financial resources, we were not able to comply with the cardiologist’s recommendation.
My daughter is now 19 years old. Last year, she passed the rigorous examination and interview for scholarship of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and spent almost one semester in Architecture at PLM, but has to stop schooling because she gets dizzy spells, tightness in her chest, difficulty breathing and fatigued easily.
For the past several years, she has been taking maintenance medicines for her ailment. (Lanoxin dosage: 25mg, Captopril dosage: 25mg, and Furosemide dosage: 40mg).
During her last check up last month, Kate’s cardiologist strongly recommended that she undergoes operation to replace the valve and repair the hole in her heart. The surgery and after-surgery-care will cost a lot of money which is beyond our capability to pay.
We plead for your support to help our daughter get the medical attention she needs so she can lead a better life. She wants to be an architect and dreams to create buildings, skyscrapers and contribute to the betterment of our society.
We look forward to your kind consideration and support.
Thank you in advance! 🙏
