Odette Typhoon Fundraising Project

Barangay Mabua is one of the Barangays of Surigao City, Philippines near the sea/coast area. With the arrival of Hurricane Odette, people lost their homes, lost their livelihoods (fishing is the main livelihood here) because the typhoon destroyed almost 95% of the vessels due to storm surge, sea level rise, big waves and very strong that wind.

At the moment, the locals do not have any access to communication (they still have to drive 4 hours away from the city to get a signal), they are running out of drinking water, there is no electricity, enough food for three days after Storm. Residents still do not receive any assistance from the government. People who can steal food from stores just to have food are desperate to survive and survive. 95% of the houses, rocking and others are just on the road. Back to zero because the properties were eroded and washed away by the storm. This barangay is not rich and the people live a simple life.
