My name is Obed Ndung'u Muiruri. I am truly a lucky survivor from the corona virus disease that has sadly affected and infected so many around us.
My covid story starts when I went to hospital on 8th November, 2020 with ameoba like symptoms that were not backing down even after medication.Unfortunately, after several tests were done it was confirmed that I not only had contracted covid but the infection had spread to my pancreas and spiked my blood sugar to life threatening levels leading to immediate admission.
By the grace of God and the consistent health care I received, I was finally given a go ahead to do homebased care to manage the diabetes. I was discharged on 23rd November, 2020 and two days later received my negative results for Covid.
On discharge, my bill had shot up immensely to a total amount of 1.45 million shillings (USD14,500) of which my insurance cover catered for upto a sum of Ksh.250,000.(USD2,500) The balance left of 1.2 million (USD12,000)were expenses that were incurred during and due to treatment of Corona Virus specifically.
( Covid unfortunately is considered a pandemic and therefore medical bills incurred have to be fully self sponsored. )
Thus, it is my humble appeal to you, to kindly help me foot my medical bill that is too hefty an amount to cover without external assistance.
