“I was anxious, depressed and contemplating suicide. I was only 16 years old with my best years ahead only I didn’t feel that way. The stigma surrounding mental health meant I had no one to talk to, and I couldn’t pay for counselling even if it was available.
But Nukjevetem (You Are Not Alone) online counselling service was there for me. Offering a free anonymous safe space for me to share my fear, anxiety and doubts about the future. I thought I would be judged but I received only comfort, compassion, and practical coping skills.
Thanks to Nukjevetem, I know I am not alone. I can get free online counselling from skilled professionals who understand, who can help me and others like me." Vlora (19),Kukës
But now Nukjevetem needs your help.
Since 2016, Nukjevetem’s mental health professionals have provided free online counselling support to more than 10,000 vulnerable young people, mostly from Albania’s rural areas.
Since COVID-19, requests for help have grown by 50% and we struggle to keep up. We urgently need funding to keep Nukjevetem operational and free for our users.
Your support will ensure that we can continue to helpvulnerable young people like Vlora.
Can you chip in to support this vital lifeline for Albania's young and vulnerable?
