Conquering Everest for Children Born with Cleft Lip & Palate

Every three (3) minutes, a baby is born with a cleft around the world - even during a pandemic. With your help, children like Aldrian, can receive a new smile & second chance at life!

Children like Sofia need your help. Thanks to organizations like Smile Train, girls & boys born with a cleft are given a brighter future. I am dedicating my EVERESTING (the hardest climbing challenge in the world) to Sofia & the thousands of other Filipinos born with a cleft every year.

WHAT IS EVERESTING?
The concept of Everesting is fiendishly simple: Pick any hill, anywhere in the world & complete repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mt Everest, Earth's highest mountain above sea level!

WHO IS MANG KALAS?
Mang Kalas has gained anticipation in the Philippine Cycling Community since 2015, by the mystery it has built up through viral & relatable experiences to Filipino Cyclists around the world. It has added popularity and an interesting mystery for the fans who continue to wonder who the man is behind this character.

The man behind Mang Kalas retired from cycling in 2016, and what better way to come back than to join the Everesting participated by 109 countries worldwide. Out of 8,000+ finishers, only 40+ were Filipino as of this writing.

MY GOAL IS SIMPLE: to create a documentary film entitled "Neveresting", starring the man behind Mang Kalas. But this film isn't only about me or the character. The story I want to share is about how cycling became apparent and eventually became a means of reconnecting not just with new friends, nor new destinations, but with our own true selves, despite the pandemic - how it has forcefully changed our present lives. But we are Filipinos so we didn't quit! We did not only strive but thrive! We found ways to survive! We prayed! We NEVER REST! Hence, nEveresting!

This is going to be a story about hardships and how we can overcome such struggles and woes by being resilient, having faith, and never quitting. THIS IS MY DEFINITION OF NEVERESTING!
