Naya urgently needs third surgery for her hip!

Naya's hip is not ok. She is limping a lot and daily in pain. We scheduled third surgery for her. It's going to be in 22nd of December. Please help us collect needed funds for her surgery.

My bestie, my sunshine, my gorgeous sammy called Naya had a surgery last January - we managed to collect needed money and provide her that much needed surgery, which helped her a lot. Right hip was replaced with artificial one. Recovery took really long time and much attention, caring and loving her. When we went to our last check out in the vet clinic, the orthopedic specialist told me she is using her right leg much more, much better and her muscle is strong and the healing really went great. I was beyond happy and super excited for her.

I was also silently hoping that she will not need the second surgery ... but unfortunately the news are not that good. Her pelvic bone is getting thinner very quickly and she needs the second surgery ASAP! Otherwise she will ... I don`t even want to think about it :( Arthritis can lead to unwanted results with loosing her for ever... Situation got from bad to worse when I got sick and I was diagnosed with heart failure last Christmas and struggling to find a job since I lost it during the covid-19 .

I added few X-ray scans of her hips. You can see the right hip on it, whch was already operated and the second - left one, which is completely destroyed - there`s practically no hip at all. The joint is badly damaged, causing her constant pain and preventing her to live as a normal dog should.

I added also the bill we payed last year. Total amount of the surgery was 3.873,82 € (there are two bills because the amount was divided - partial payment was done over the Animal Welfare Society Arja, which was also collecting the funds for her).

Expected amount we need for her second surgery is 4.500 € plus all additional costs for medicals, x-ray scans, transport costs and hopefully we will manage to pay at least few hydro therapies for her after the surgery.

We already planned a surgery on 9th of June, but we didn`t had the money, so we needed to postpone it. Now we plan to do it in September if we will have necessary funds for it.

I went trough some really hard times lately and struggle to find a job, to pay at least the most needed things. I can not help my self to put her on the first place and do everything I need to do to provide what she really needs - and the surgery is on the top of the list. We believe in kindness of people and are asking for help - to skip a coffee and toss a coin for her surgery. If you can`t afford that, please help me with sharing her story.

We will update our path to healthy paws regularly and as we did last time - the bill will be published after the surgery. Hopefully everything will go well and she will be finally able to run with other dogs, without anything hurts her. That`s my only wish.

Naya`s story before the first surgery:

Henlo to all the people with big heart,

my name is Naya and I am 5 years old Samoyed. I live in Slovenia, Europe. The day I met my lovely pawrent was the happiest day of my life. Although I didn’t know that back then

Once I've realized that my life started to become full of love, play, joy, excitement and full belly, I started to behave like every puppy - jumping around, chewing everything I found on the floor, sharing nose kisses and gorgeous sammy smiles. I thought I was born as a healthy puppy.

Recently I started to feel the pain in my back legs, I couldn't jump and run as my other pawfriends, I became the slowest one among them all and I have huge difficulties standing up, troubles laying down, turning around or walk, stiffness … but I was happy and tried to enjoyed everything, although I try to deny and hide my pain as much as I can, especially try not to whine when the pain becomes too hard – till three days ago …

My pawrent took me on a trip – I thought we are going to play in the park. I felt a strange fear coming out of my pawrent. It was there for a while already… but honestly I didn’t completely understood it. When I got out of the car we entered in a building where they touched my spine, my paws, my tail, my knees a lot and after all those touches they sedated me. When I woke up everything drastically changed. It is kind a blurry memory, but I remember that my pawrent cried and I heard only they were speaking something about the only possibility for me to walk - are new hips.

On the way back home I listened her cry and I counted her tears…I wanted to comfort her and give her my boop with my wet nose – but didn't had any power to do it. I was in huge pain after the x ray scanning.

That was my worst day ever. All my dreams have been crushed.

Will I be able to walk in a month or two? Will this pain in my body ever disappear? Will I ever run with my pawfriends again? Will I be here next to her in the future?

But she needs me … and I love her! She's my whole entire heart. Every moment we spend together is a beautiful and humbling gift. She is my everything and I am hers. Our bond is eternal – as the love between us.

And you know what? I don't want a wheelchair and to have even more troubles with my spine and other pawpains following…

The good news - there is still hope for me! Although my diagnose is very hard hip dysplasia, I heard that vet said he can make me new hips! I know my health is in imminent danger and I cannot wait long time for that surgery. But there is 87 % of possibility that I will walk and run again in my pawlife!

I am very sad also that my pawrent lost her job in the beginning of the year, because since then I am always with her. She is on the sick leave for almost half a year now and I don't really understand many human things, but I heard her speaking with the vet that she doesn't have money to pay those two hip surgeries for me.

I see she has a faith in her eyes and she gave me a promise she will do anything to help me. She said there are still good people on this world who can help us. This is why she overcame the feeling of shame to ask for a help and decided to try to raise funds for my new hips. I have never given up on her and she will not ever give up on me. She promised me that. And I believe her.

She has always helped the animals all around the Globe, found so many warm and loving homes for stray dogs, donated, collected food and other necessary things for them, publish, made campaigns for them - now she needs your help for ME!

December is a month of hope, presents and wishes - and all I want for Christmas is … a hip!

The next steps to get Naya to surgery will be what's the most important. This is where Naya needs our support! After we will have 4000 EUR we can go for a first surgery – for her right hip, which is URGENTLY NEEDED, because her right hip is in even worse situation as the left one. The joint is badly damaged. Six months of recovery is needed after that procedure and before the next surgery for her left hip, for which we need another 4000 €. 2000 € is evaluation for her recovery (hydrotherapy, physiotherapy after the surgery, etc).

Location of her surgery would be at the TOPLICA VETERINARY HOSPITAL in Slovenia, where one of the best orthopedist vet will do a surgery for her.

If her bad condition is not going to be treated urgently, she will be soon not mobile and in addition to this her hip dysplasia will degenerate to degenerative joint disease called osteoarthritis, which usually lead into the decision to put the dog down. I CAN NOT ALLOW THIS!

This is why I find myself here – seeking your help and support to keep Naya stable and save her life. Every penny will go towards Naya's surgery and associated costs. ANY amount anyone is able to donate will be truly appreciated and is not taken lightly.
