Nanay Fernanda’s Medical Fund

We, the family of Fernanda Dela Cruz-Santos, would like to appeal to your kind and generous hearts as we prepare our dear mother for a major surgery at the soonest possible time. Fernanda underwent Hysteroscopy and D&C last December 8, 2017 at the Delos Santos Medical Center under Dr. Irene Umipig to address her bleeding since May 2017. A lump was seen on her endometrium and a tissue was taken for biopsy. Surgery Pathology Report said:

Microscopic examination shows a malignant tumor composed of highly pleomorphic in clusters and in sheets in a necrotic background.

DIAGNOSIS: Undifferentiated Neoplasm.

We were then referred to see a cancer specialist, Dr. Zorayda Tagayuna, Obstetrician-Oncologist at the same hospital. She made us understand the aggressiveness of the tumor found on her endometrium and the need to perform the surgery right away to remove the tumor, perform hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, bilateral lymph node dissection, peritoneal fluid cytology, infracolic omentectomy and random peritoneal sampling. But before that, we were requested to do a CT Scan of her whole abdomen with contrast to see the extent of damage done by the cancer. With the CT Scan’s result, Dr. Tagayuna will be able to decide if it is also necessary to have a surgeon onboard.

Unfortunately, the CT Scan gave us an even worse result. It seems that there is also a tumor in her lower colon measuring 4.4 x 4.6 x 5 cm. A colonoscopy is scheduled on December 27, 2017 under Dr. Robert Tan, gastroenterologist.

Nanay Fernanda’s medical bills are already piling up and we were requested to prepare Php 200,000.00 for the surgery. We would not appeal for your help if we do not see our mother willing to fight this cancer and win the battle. She still dreams to live longer to take care of Tatay Boy and see all her grandchildren achieve their ambitions in life. She continues to have faith in our Lord and continues to believe that we were not given trials that He knows we cannot handle.
