Advocating for a Child Violence-Free Community

At Art for Children Foundation (A4C), we are deeply committed to addressing the alarming issue of child violence in Naivasha. With over 1 million school dropouts reported annually in Kenya, and countless children experiencing violence, the need for intervention is urgent.

Did you know that child violence affects one in every two children in Kenya? This means that 50% of Kenyan children suffer from various forms of violence, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse. These acts of violence occur in the very places where children should feel safe and protected.

In 2020, UNICEF Kenya report ranked Nakuru County in 3rd position, out of 47 counties, leading in child violence in Kenya. With the county having over 360,000 children, Nakuru Children Art and Mentorship Programme (NACAMP), our flagship project, is a ray of hope for underprivileged children in Naivasha Sub-County. By integrating art with ICT and mentorship, we provide these children with a pathway for healing, growth, and empowerment.

With the help of young and dedicated community volunteers, we offer a safe space for children to explore their artistic abilities and unleash their creativity. Through music, drawing, and other artistic mediums, children discover their talents and develop essential life skills. Moreover, our mentorship program instills values of good governance and equips them with the tools to become responsible citizen leaders.
