Hello Everyone! Good day,
Let me first introduce myself, I'm Rey and I'm here knocking all your hearts for donations and prayers for my beautiful loving mom. She is currently diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, a type of cancer where it grows in the bile duct and spreads into the liver.
Symptoms where not visible as she was healthy and very energetic, she was doing her daily activities like jogging in the morning while gardening in the afternoon. Until my sister was able to notice she was becoming yellowish.
It was in the week where we were about to have a family reunion, it would have been an enjoyable moment attending but who was expecting that this would happen. We had her checked by the doctor but it was at that moment that we learned she already has a cancer and it was on the stage 2 diagnosis. She was confined as her yellowish(jaundice) become so much visible and she needs an immediate ERCP procedure where a stent was inserted into her bile so that the fluid that makes her yellow will flow into her intestine, after that she became vulnerable to simple diseases like fever or cough. Those things happened so fast.
The doctor told us to have a proper operation within a week where those tissues/tumor that are blocking here bile will be removed, my father's insurance where it was supporting my mother was already exhausted as this was used in the earlier procedure. Though we were lacking of money, the operation was pushed but it failed, the doctors were not able to removed the cancer tissues.
We were advised to transfer to a much better hospital where they have more high tech machines to help with curing my mother's illness, though we knew that it will cost that much but since we love our mom we brought her to a better hospital in Manila.
Last week she had undergone an operation again, it was both good and bad news. They were able to remove the cancer tissues but here liver was cut to almost 50% of its original mass.
She is recovering right now, and I'm hoping that her body will respond well after a month. It's very difficult to see her suffering.
We tried raising cash between the family members but it was not enough as it only covered half of the price of the operation. We are still in need for the remainder of the expenses, including maintenance medicines and as far as I know, there would be still follow-up checkups but I do hope for God's grace.
My mother is trying to be strong for us, she says that she already accepted whatever would be the outcome but she still believes for a miracle. She did not ask why she was given that type of illness knowing we can't support it, but she prays that God would hear from above and give her more time to spend with us.
I love my mom so much, she's my best friend. She had given me her best tender loving care. If I can only share the burden that she is having right now.
