My Mom Fights Breast Cancer

Hello! My name is Abegal, 23 years old this year. My family and I are from Malaysia.

I started this page for someone I love dearly: My mother. My mother is the best mother I can ever ask for; she's caring, always understanding, kind, and she's my best friend. About a few years ago, the split of my parents took a heavy toll on my mother and she worked so hard everyday, single-handedly feed and raise my 15 years old brother and I.

And just a year ago, my mom was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. Not long after that she quitted her full-time job, and did some freelances projects from home now and then until recently, too weak for daily tasks and jobs.

When we found out, it was already stage III, HER2 positive (HER2 positive cancer tends to be more aggressive and spread more quickly than other cancer). My mother, always so optimistic yet stubborn, insisted not to undergo surgery and chemotherapy. For the past months she has been eating very healthy, a number of cancer supplements, probiotic enzymes, and a traditional medicinal herb (said to have high recovery rate). But a bottle of these are not cheap as well, but we managed to raise funds among few relatives and closest friends. But none seem to work for her condition.

I have been really supporting my mom's wishes of not wanting to undergo surgery and chemotherapy for a long time. But now, the situation has changed, she's gotten a lot weaker. Her cancer has advanced to stage IV and also probable metastasis to her vertebrae (further tests needed). Regular appointments with doctors and the seriousness of her condition have managed to changed my mom's decision - she has decided to go for chemotherapy and other treatments, most probably in the coming month if our financial situation allows.

Our government has sponsorship programs for cancer patients, but we just found out that my mom, now a stage IV patient, has a low chance of getting the funds. I, working away from home, am desperate. I can never raise enough money in time with my monthly salary. I am clueless on what I can do to help. Feel free to approach me for clarification.
