Hello, my name is Mike Salvia, youngest son of Elmer Salvia, my father, who recently died because of stroke.
Our family were an evacuees of Taal, and until now we haven’t returned to our home due to lockdown restrictions.
We have been renting a single room in Sto Tomas City at a rate of P6,000 each month. Because my grandma is frail and with my father’s condition, we could not risk living in evacuation centers.
With no telling when Taal Volcano would let us return to our lakeside hometown, our family has little choice but to put up with all our hardship. With my father gone, our future seems even bleaker. And then there are the bills incurred from my father's sudden sickness and death. Our family still owes the Cabrini Hospital P47,000. For the coffin and funeral services, we owe Funeraria Velma P140,000.
For now, we don't know how we would move on with these problems. How we ever going to rebuild our lives in our home in Talisay? In the first place, can we ever go back? Taal Volcano still threatens to blow any minute, possibly unleashing a bigger catastrophe than what anyone has seen so far.
Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated by our family
We will posts updates here and hopefully our family will move on and rise again despite these problems
