MY CAT: Arthur needs Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery. Please help!

Hi everyone, meet my best friend of 5 years, Arthur. We met in 2016 when we found him at the waste deposit area (bin area) of our old apartment in a box and decided to take him into our then home. Arthur and I immediately bonded, carrying each other through days of joy and tears.

On 12th October 2019, I noticed that Arthur was acting unusual. He refused his favourite food and kept to himself in a corner for a couple of days. I also noticed that he had only done his business once on that day. This prompted a visit to the vet to find out what was going on as Arthur is usually the playful sort.

Arthur was diagnosed with bladder stones. These stones were blocking his urinary tract, causing him pain and discomfort throughout the day as he was not able to urinate without much difficulty. We had the bladder stones removed through a surgery the next day, followed with subsequent treatments as advised by the vet. Arthur recovered well and was back to his old playful and loving self in no time.

Unfortunately...on 26th August 2020, Arthur was once again diagnosed with urinary obstruction. I carried on with my day as usual but noticed that he refused his food once again and had trouble urinating. Arthur withdrew to an anti-social state and hid under the bed - his little way of telling us that he's ill. I remembered the vet's advice to feel his privates if he showed signs of urinary discomfort - if the area is hard, it's not a good sign.

So I did and he screamed in pain, signalling that his urinary obstruction was back. I brought him to the vet and true enough, that was their diagnosis. Arthur is now scheduled for Perineal Urethrostomy surgery this weekend at the local veterinary practice. In a nutshell, this surgery is carried out to expand the opening of his urethra, allowing him to urinate without discomfort. This surgery costs Rm2000 and I need your help. Finances are incredibly tight at home now as I also have to fund my younger sibling's education in lieu of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, and take care of the household necessities.

I humbly ask for everyone's help to fund my beloved Arthur's surgery. I've gathered what I can from my savings but as it stands, it isn't enough to pay for the surgery and post-sugery care. It is a big amount for all of us at home and I need it urgently to help save Arthur's life. I need your help to make this work for him. I cannot and will not give up on him as he's my best friend and all I've got left.
