Murdoch Uni Nursing Students- Om Goi Thailand 2015

Murdoch University School of Nursing have given us, as group of 10 students, the opportunity to travel to Om Goi in rural Thailand this June/July 2015. As student nurses it is our aim to promote health care in an educational and lasting way, therefore we are aiming to fund raise as much money as possible to put towards supplies and educational resources.  The  main aim of our trip is to learn about the health care services provided to remote villages which do not have equal access to the main health care systems of Thailand. Our group is also going to work closely with the local villages by setting up mobile health clinics where we will conduct routine health checks along side other health care professional teams.

Om Goi is a rural town which undergoes flooding in most parts of the year making it difficult to distribute health care resources and supplies. As well as this there is a large population of rural tribes living around the Om Goi region who cannot access health care. 

Any donation, big or small, will go a long way towards this journey and you can be assured that the funds and rescources will be put towards the communities who are in need the most during our visit. We are looking for donations of clothes, reading glasses and small toys for the children.
