Biddigal have been invited to attend and possible perform at the International Blacks in Dance Conference in Los Angeles, California, USA. We are seeking to raise funds to attend this conference.
Biddigal grew from a solo audition in 2012, to a cast of 21 Indigenous performers for our first production “Biddigal Dreaming” in 2014, followed by a second season in 2015 and 2016 Biddigal presented the first of its kind performative response "Ngali Guman".
Biddigal draws and combines from Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures to maintain age old traditions while successfully establishing innovative and professional opportunities for youth and elders to portray a shared vision of contemporary Australia.
By creating partnerships with our local city council, Indigenous organisations, arts bodies and with one of Australia's major performance companies and the pro bono work of Artistic Director Pauline Lampton, their generosity by way of in-kind services and project-based funding has fostered growth which has generated a small but symbolic income which has been reinvested to further the work of Biddigal.
Despite the generosity of our partners, Biddigal is heavily underfunded.
We are now asking your help for us to achieve the next step in our journey.
