Mom is a fighter

Our mom, Carina Garcia was diagnosed about a couple of years ago with stage IV Breast Cancer. Luckily, through the help of family and friends, she managed to complete her chemotheraphy and radiotherapy treatment. This allowed for the safe removal of her right breast with the tumor alongside it.

But due to her late diagnosis and her old age, her body gradually grew weak after the surgery but this didn't stop her from fighting every single day. Unfortunately, on 16 May 2019, she choked after having dinner and was rushed to the hospital. There, she was diagnosed with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) due to aspiration. This caused a build-up of fluid inside her lungs, preventing enough oxygen to get into her blood. Since her admission in the ICU she has been connected to a mechanical ventilator to aid in her breathing.

It has been a very hard three weeks for us, especially our mom but even through all the tests, all the injections, and all the pain, she has still kept on fighting.

Over these past three weeks, our hospital bill has continued to go up, and is now almost 400,000 pesos.

We have exhausted what little saving we had as well as contacted friends and family for any financial aid they could extend to us. But sadly, we are still 200,000 pesos short.

We are reaching out to anyone to please help us in this hurdle in our life.
