My name is Michael Palma, and I am thankful to everyone for taking a moment to support this cause. I have been a pro bono volunteer ever since I was in my last year of university studies four years ago, and have continued on this journey doing all sorts of volunteering missions from social causes to religious ministering. For some time now, I have been part with the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) in the Philippines and its many core programs, like the Good News Corps (GNC) Overseas Volunteerism Program, allowing me to be a missionary volunteer to other countries at a time.
Through the GNC Overseas Volunteerism Program, I was able to attend mission trips in nearby countries, like South Korea and Vietnam last 2012 and 2014, respectively; both of which were self-funded. I was able to share the differences in my culture with theirs and learn through the process as well with the many aspects of life while I stayed there.
By next year, I will be departing for another one-year mission trip, this time to South America. The main focus while serving there would be crusades, mostly for the youths, however there will be some community development projects, as well. An enormous and important part of the mission would be to build new leaders from lost youths, who until now led their lives amiss, with basic principles and knowledge of the Gospel, ultimately benefiting the upbringing of the church.
Also, during the trip, it will prove to be part of a personal process of development, wherein it would help me directly in expanding my Spanish skills.
Where and How Long?
The exact country of destination will be determined a month before my potential dispatch date, which would be around July of next year, 2017. The locations would range from Peru, Colombia or Argentina. This trip will allow me one more chance to share the gospel in all sorts of ways, as well as giving me a healthy perspective on the world.
How You Can Help?
I trust that God has already provided everything for this trip, and I sincerely value your support in whatever capacity you are able to offer, like:
- Financial Contribution
- Airline Miles
- Letter of Recommendation
Please consider also my request to keep me in your prayers as I prepare to go, for my safe flight there and back, for my safety during my stay, and for my heart to be always open to accept any hurdles and situations I might come across to and allow God to move through and amongst me in whatever way He desires. Let the people also that we meet be part of your prayers, that their hearts be open as well and ready to accept what God has in store for them, and that they experience the wonderful blessings of God.
Secondly, the goal I intend to reach I realize is not a small amount, but I know God has it already in His hands. Whatever help you may give will be truly appreciated.
The goal I need to reach is not less than $10,000.
A round trip ticket would generally cost not less than $3,500. There are basically three ways for me to visit South America: (1) a connecting flight from the US; (2) a connecting flight from the Middle East; and, (3) a connecting flight from Singapore. I could also take a connecting flight from Europe, however I disregarded this option on the basis of convenience.
Visa processing and other procedures in producing pertinent documents for the whole one-year mission trip would mostly be around $2,000.
I also tend to set a missionary contribution amounting to $1,000 for both my home and host country to assist them in any construction or community projects.
Finally, medical insurance, extra spending, and personal necessities would be included in the amount I aim to reach. There is no need to worry about food, transportation and accommodation will be supported by the host country I would be staying in.
If you find it in your heart to support in a different way, you may communicate through [email protected] I thank you once again immensely through any of your assistance towards this.
