Around the world, over 800,000 children are reported missing every year. Every 5-7 hours, a child goes missing in South Africa with alarming figures of 1.2 million children trafficking every year. In EU, 250,000 children are reported missing every year, 1 child every 2 minutes. In United Kingdom, someone is reported missing every 90 seconds.

These alarming figures are just but a snapshot of the escalating problem affecting all countries around the world.

Unfortunately, in many countries, statistics on missing persons are not available and the ones available may not be accurate.

Its because of the alarming figures and the number of missing persons cases received everyday that mispers project was born to help find and track missing persons.
