Almira June was born with a congenital heart defect, which means that for the past 8 years of her life, she always had that heart problem that to this day we are hoping to be able to repair soon.

While it pains all of us to imagine what she will undergo, given her lithe body and fragile state, we are confident, hopeful and relying on the almighty God that this surgery will be successful and one that will help restore Mimay to healthy heart and normal health.

To better understand what Mimay will be having, Click this link (http://www.pedcard.rush.edu/PP/chd%20for%20parents%20truncus.htm) which will give a clear picture on what’s going on in her heart right now.

Thank you again for your constant prayers and support and we pray you can help us some more to come up with our needed amount also in our fund drive to help in Mimay’s surgery, hospitalization and care.

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

(If you want to get in touch with us directly, you may email us at [email protected] We shall also add financial channels for easier way to send in your desired help. Rest assured that all your financial help will go towards Mimay’s benefit).— M.M.

Last August 21, 2019, our brave princess Almira June was discharged from the hospital. Based on the results of the test, it is still a “GO” with her surgery BUT, thankfully at some point, that her surgery will be postponed to mid-September to October 2019 to prepare her body some more for what’s to come.

She was excited to come home. Hospitals aren’t her favorite really (who does like it, right?), but it was never without a struggle and funny story.

After her procedure the previous day, she was asked to straighten her right leg for about 12 hours since it has some wound still from the catheter (if she moves it, she might end up with some bleeding). So before we went home, we were preparing her, and since it’s mkre than 12 hours, she’s allowed to move her legs, but the funny girl didn’t move her left leg the whole time too! And she was whining every time we tried to move her left leg to put on her undies, so that I can carry her to the chair. Such a trip!

What about how I ended up with various funny faces on my phone because she kept on snapping some photos of me? Funny girl!

But she’s indeed a brave one. She’s fighting this all and I hope that through your help and prayers, we can help her fight her way through a healthy heart and more years growing up.

Thank you to everyone who have shown and shared their support, and looking forward for all of you to share the word about our dear Mimay and her journey to a healthy heart. - - - M.M.

Our little girl had her cardiac catheterization this morning. Before she went had the procedure, she had a little throw up, which we attribute to her stress over this procedure (as a background, since she knows of her condition since she was little, she tends to cry quietly when people around her talk about it).

The long thin needle was inserted through her inner thigh, and she had to be sedated. But our little girl woke up during the procedure thus she was given an additional dose to keep her calm and sleepy.

After 3 hours, she was able to go back to her room already. Because of the procedure, she cannot move her leg for the rest of the day, and she is under a progressive diet starting 4:00 pm (water, liquids, soft diet, regular food).

Upon waking up, she asked for some cartoons. She had little tears on her eyes every now and then which we attribute to her feeling some of the pain. She laughed though while watching My Little Pony coz the episode was really funny (in her opinion 🤪).

We saw the doctor also and was told that she can go home tomorrow. We go back on Sunday to prepare for her open heart surgery.

We really appreciate the financial help that’s pouring in and the prayers that most of friends and family have sent us.

You may send in your messages of love, hope, strength and prayers here or thru [email protected]

Thank you very much! 🙏🙏🙏

Our little girl was admitted today for her pre-operation procedures. According to her mommy and daddy, she was brave, and had such extra appetite.

I will be able to see her still tomorrow, so I will have more updates by that time. But tomorrow should be her cardiac catheterization where she will need to be in a food fasting state.

Please lift up prayers for her successful procedure as (1) she’s REALLY not fond of hospitals (but who is, right?), and (2) cardiac cath quite gives you pain to imagine (know more here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cardiac-catheterization/about/pac-20384695)

What I know too is that she will undergo 2D Echo. The last time she had one over the summer, I was there with her and it was hilarious! She was soooo bored during the procedure she was trying to keep herself busy or have fun but you can sense how bored she was and would like to get it over fast. But her anatomy is really different than the usual kid that we had to angle her at some side or the other so that the machine can see what it needs to find.

Many thanks to our generous donors so far and hope you can help us keep it going. We hope that we can update you all as much each and every time.

Thank you and God bless you all. — M.M.
