More and more people are feeling confused, isolated, and lost in today's world. Many of us turn to common distractions like over-thinking, social media, online games, alcohol, drugs, or even porn. These ways of escaping our sorrows can be addictive and throw us into a perpetual cycle that keeps us spinning deeper into our pain and disconnects us from ourselves and the world.
I have also been lost and confused. I spent many years trying to find answers but had no idea where to begin or who to turn to. I made bad life choices in my quest to find balance and wholeness. I looked for solutions to ease my pain from an external source but rather than solving my problems, I created more by associating with the wrong crowd, doing things that got me in trouble and, consequently, made my situation worse. No amount of running away from my worries and fears relieved me because, ultimately, they always caught up...bigger and stronger than ever before.
We have a tendency to push away or hold tightly to our despair. Be it our longing for connection, the heartache of losing a loved one, or fear of not making ends meet, we become so caught that we are unable to find our way out of suffering.
Have you ever felt confused, stressed out, or anxious? Do you ever feel disconnected? Do you ever long to hear the whisper of your heart or search for insights that reveal the path to your own truth?
The truth we're looking for unveils deep contentment that's available to us when we take the time to be in silence. We can connect to our present moment experience and see the beauty of nature working within us. It can't be learned by merely reading books or listening to podcasts. The impact is felt when we experience this truth directly by tuning in to our body, heart, mind and being in the present moment.
Attending my first silent meditation retreat set my journey toward wholeness in motion. My mind opened. My attitude toward life shifted. I engaged more fully with the world. Now I'm working to inspire others by guiding them into the silence of their hearts to embark on a pilgrimage toward harmony, joy, and ease that can be found within.
Retreats offer us an opportunity to be quiet, reflect, review, and illuminate. Retreats may lead to a feeling of peace, ease, and find inspiration to live a more focused and happier life. In these retreats, you are provided with tools that you can integrate into daily life, which can benefit not only you but also your family, friends, communities, as well as the planet.
The funds created for this scholarship reserve will help those without the financial means to attend and participate in a retreat. Retreats require resources to run smoothly and effectively. We need a comfortable, safe space for practice and for rest. We need food and water. We need to pay for services and labor costs. Your contribution will help us cover our needs, overhead costs and more.
