Hi, I'm Naoko a very close friend of both Will & Haruko. I've been in deep shock ever since hearing of Will's passing in the Maldives.
Initially all I wanted to do was offer support to Haruko and their children, Mai & Taiji. In the days following the news, I actually stayed with Haruko just to be there and also be there for their children, but questioned how much I could really help. I've therefore decided to do something that I feel would make a genuine difference for Haruko and the children.
Rather than sending flowers from around the world (as I know Will has friends all over the place!), it would be fantastic to receive donations from both family and friends. The goal here is to HELP Haruko and give her one less thing to worry about - if we can collectively pay for the funeral ceremony / wake, this would be an enormous help. If there are any funds left over, this would be put towards the education fund for both Mai and Taiji. Any donation is welcome, whether it’s small or large - it’s whatever you’re comfortable with, however every single donation will help Haruko and the children at this unbelievably tragic time.

Update posted by Naoko Obata at 01:08 amGood morning from Japan. Yesterday, we have a funeral of Will at Shinagawa Tokyo with close member. The weather was beautiful and kids were running around happily with usual. I would like to say thank you very much your warm messages and support. It's been a month from Will passed. . . . .

Such a great idea Nao and Ben! Haruko. I am still in shock and cant imagine what you and the family are feeling from such a loss. I have and will always cherish my Singapore days and Will was a huge part of those fantastic memories. Such a legend and always fun to be around. RIP mate! 😞 Deep
