Medical Funds for Simproniano Sator

Mr. Simproniano Sator, 69-year-old father of my friend Samantha Josephine Sator, is in dire need of your kind help. He is in the ICU right now battling complications in his heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver. Since his retirement as a writer, his only child Samantha has been working to make ends meet. His wife passed away when Sam was just eight years old.

Last September, he was hospitalized and diagnosed with ulcer in UCMed in Cebu City, Philippines. He was admitted there because Sam is employed in the hospital and they hoped to get employee discount on the bills. They did. However, the hospitalization still left Sam in debt with medical bills. Mr. Sator underwent several laboratory examinations and stayed in the hospital for two weeks. During those weeks, Sam was forced to take an unpaid leave of absence from work because no one could tend to her father. Most of their relatives live in Negros and they couldn’t come to Cebu due to lack of money.

Now, they’re going through this difficulty again. Mr. Sator has been in the ICU since November 19 (Sunday). The bills have reached more than Php123,000. They have no other source of income aside from Sam’s salary and her father’s monthly pension. Thanks to donations from friends and some relatives, her father was able to undergo dialysis. Still, the bills are far from covered.

We are very grateful to those who have extended assistance. Your financial aid, moral support, and constant prayers have helped Sam and her father go through this painful ordeal. They still need us for this trial isn’t over yet.
