Medical Funds for Aunt Virginia, Please Help
What do you fear the most?
Mine is losing a loved one.
This fear came on February 2, 2022. It started when my Aunt had a cough which we thought can be healed by taking a common cough medicine. At first it was dry cough until after days it started to form phlegm. We then gave her antibiotic for 5days prescribed by the doctor. After 5days of taking antibiotic her condition got worse as she started to lose appetite which weakened her and she also had problem in her speaking.
On the night of January 30 we noticed that she's having a hard time breathing, we suspected that she had a mild stoke that's why we rushed her to the nearest hospital which is San Juan De Dios. Luckily, the hospital attended to our immediate need. She was CT Scanned that night and other tests went on_X-Ray, Blood Test, ECG, etc.. The result of her tests was released and my Aunt was diagnosed with Pneumonia. The hospital performed RT-PCR test and the result was negative. We were advised that she needs to be admitted to the hospital but there was no room available yet that's why we spent 2 ½ days in the Emergency room. On our last day in the ER (we are supposed to transfer in the regular room) she had a heart attack. 😔 Her condition got worse and the doctors advised that she needs to be intubated and our family agreed. After she got intubated, instead of having the regular room we need to be in the ICU as she needs to be closely monitored. Recently she had an excessive bleeding in her stomach and needed a blood transfusion.
Curently she's still in the ICU, and doctors are still closely monitoring her. There are signs of improvement compared on the previous days.
My 86 years old Aunt, VIRGINIA VENTURA has history of two mild stokes and survived. And this time she is now fighting another battle and our family is still on the positive note that she can also survive this as she's still undergoing treatment. We already paid initially of Php 100,000.00 ++ for her hospital bill but our running billing now is almost Php 300,000.00 as of February 6. This bill goes up in the coming days. Our savings and any health benefits from our government we could get is not enough to settle the bills. We are doing this fund raising for our Aunt because she has no children and spouse and that we love her so much because she supported our family when she was young. We can't afford to lose her that's why we're doing the best we can to support her. She is so kind, bubbly and loved by all.
I know that this is a very trying time for everyone but I would still knock in your hearts to appeal for any help we can get. Any financial support you can extend to our family will give our Aunt a greater fighting chance and for which we are grateful.
