Maria and Kaelyn’s Journey to Home

I’m a mother of 4 years old and a divorcee living in UAE for 10 years now. My husband left me before I deliver my daughter and I’ve been struggling to manage raising my daughter all by myself. Due to the recession because of COVID 19 I have lost my job and struggling without any income for 5 months now. I am having a very tough life with my daughter and struggling a lot and we are managing our daily food expenses through the donations of a good friends and colleagues but since everyone is struggling financially nowadays we are not receiving any aid which has led us to struggle more even with our food expenses. I have tried every possible way to sustain ourselves here in UAE financially but during this pandemic its really hard to find a job.

My mother, sister and brother and his wife also loss their job and we are all struggling to manage or daily expenses neither we cannot support each other like we usually does before this pandemic happens. My mother also got affected with corona virus that added with our problem sadly.

I don’t have any income and I couldn’t afford to pay the rent and due to the outstanding balance with the real estate we got evicted from our flat. In addition with this problem the real estate file a civil case against me also due to non payment and added the non completion of the contract despite that we didn’t live in the flat from Feb 2020 till date.

With the civil case filed on me I’m facing a travel ban and this is the reason why I’m coming forward to seek for help for me to pay this amount so we could go back home and try to start a new life with my daughter. She is already 4 years old and I am very upset and depress that I couldn’t even send her to school and provide her a normal life.

Living in UAE is one of the best thing ever happened in my life and I am very thankful with the government for all the support they had given especially when my mother got infected with Corona virus. We are hoping to live our life here but the situation makes really hard for us to manage with our expenses.
