Campaign Story
Margaret Owino just turned 60 years old in July and in August of 2018 she went to Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi for a routine ERCP procedure to deal with the issue of gallstones.
Following the procedure she immediately developed severe pancreatitis which led to her being admitted into the HDU at Aga Khan for 3 weeks. Immediately after, she was discharged from Aga Khan but still had to deal with other issues that were overlooked like a Pancreatic pseudocyst i.e. very huge abdominal swelling.
This led to her not being able to eat without vomiting, have low blood pressure and also was very weak. So she had to be readmitted to Nairobi Hospital for the month of September and October. Doctors at Nairobi hospital recommended surgery to deal with the pseudocyst and have been managing all other symptoms like low blood pressure and also treatment of her pancreatitis.
Over the course of the 3 months, Margaret had been in Hospital her Medical insurance was exhausted and we are fortunate enough that the administration at Nairobi Hospital allowed for treatment to be done even though the medical cover was exhausted well over the total amount.
Margaret is recovering at home for the last 3 weeks and still undergoing treatment and being closely monitored.
We owe the hospital administration USD 30,000 which will cover the cost of her last treatment which included the surgery. We are asking for your assistance to help offset this huge amount which we have to settle.
We appreciate any help you can give, Feel free to reach us through the below contacts.
