Malta 4 Ukraine: Heartfelt Gratitude for Your Generosity in 2022 & 2023

As we bid farewell to 2023, I am reaching out on behalf of Malta4Ukraine to express our deepest gratitude for the tremendous generosity and unwavering support you've extended to our cause over the past two years.

Your invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in our journey to provide aid and assistance through our three main priorities, with a particular focus on Army & Civilian Assistance, Medication & Surgical Support, and Transportation Costs. Malta4Ukraine has strived to make a meaningful impact in these crucial areas, and your support has been instrumental in our success.

Allow me to provide you with a brief overview of the impact we've collectively achieved between 2022 and 2023:

Army & Civilian Assistance

Over 13% of the monetary donations received were directed towards aiding Army & Civilian Assistance. In addition, we successfully delivered over 4.9 tons of essential supplies encompassing food, baby items, sanitary articles, cleansing products, thermal clothing (new), blankets (new), towels (new), electronic equipment, and more. This amounted to 437 boxes distributed to various Ukrainian organizations throughout the country.

Medication & Surgical Support

Slightly over 12% of the monetary donations were allocated to the purchase of Medication & Surgical Support, resulting in the delivery of over 0.7 tons of vital supplies. This included medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, food/hydration supplements, vitamins, medical and surgical equipment. Notably, in addition private donors contributed significantly, with one individual donating over €2,800 in medications, and a local company generously providing over €135,000 in vitamins and food/hydration supplements.

Transportation & Other Related Expenses

A substantial portion, slightly over 73% of the monetary donations, supported transportation costs and other related expenses. Throughout 2022 and 2023, we successfully delivered over 8.0 tons of much-needed donations within Ukraine via two main routes, covering a total of 7,506km (both ways) via Germany and 7,772km (both ways) via Austria. These routes involved ferry crossings and transit to the Ukrainian border, excluding additional driving within Ukraine.

Your generous contributions have been the driving force behind our ability to fulfill our mission. Without your support, Malta4Ukraine would have remained a dream, and countless organizations and individuals in Ukraine would not have received the crucial assistance they needed.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited to announce our fourth priority—Mental Health Advocacy. This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to addressing diverse needs and challenges within the community.

On behalf of the Ukrainian organizations and individuals we've assisted within Ukraine, and from the core of our hearts, we extend our sincere thanks for standing with us over the past two years. We are hopeful that we can continue to count on your support in the upcoming year, 2024, as we strive to make an even greater impact.
