Campaign Story
Description of ArK project:
The ArK committee consists of around 40 members which shares the same vision :to do something meaningful and leave a mark before we graduate.
ArK set sights on building the Biggest Malaysian Map using recycled mineral bottles, and breaking first the Malaysian record, then the World Record, with it. Besides, we may display the biggest map at Stadium Bukit Jalil on Malaysia Independence Day.
According to the plan, as much as 15,000 bottles are needed to accomplish this. Committee members have been going to marathons all over Malaysia to collect used water bottles, as well as collecting water bottles from all venues after university hours.
Several factors that motivates ArK committee on breaking this record include:
1. To inspire the creation of a sustainable future through awareness and education. Our collection makes use of single use plastic bottles when and allows us to encourage the use of reusable bottles instead.
2. Secondly, to gather talented youth members to perform a patriotic act. We wish to show and empower the members to love and feel proud of being Malaysian.
We estimate the cost of RM 17,000 for the building of Malaysia map. Below is the estimation for costs for respectively items:
Item | Cost (RM) |
Entry for Malaysia Record | 9,800 |
Entry for World Record | 3,300 |
Transportation (Truck for carry the map) | 2,000 |
Paint (Red, Blue, White and Yellow) | 1,000 |
Stuff required (Rope, Glue, paint brushes and roller and etc.) | 600 |
Total | 16700 |
Other that crowdfunding, our fundraising method includes selling food and clothing, personal donations from the committee, and approaching relevant companies for sponsorship. However, we are still a long way away and every little dollar helps.
Please support our project; help us break the Malaysian and World Record!
