Myself and my 2 children are heading to Uganda November 2013 for 10 weeks where we will be working in orphanages affected by HIV/Aids. Asking what the biggest need is in this country we found out from all that Malaria treated mosquito nets for the children and babies are very short due to the lack of income, as malaria is the biggest threat to many of the villages and orphanages. The nets cost $9 each and will last 2 years even with washing. These have been chemically dipped and treated correctly. We have plans to buy as many nets as possible while in Uganda and distributing them in the villages throughout the remote villages of Gulu, Jinja, Kiboga and Kampala districts. Every year many children die from the lack of Malaria treated nets as they are more than a 6 months wages for many. Each net can have about 4 children sleeping under them, saving 4 lives per net. Malaria does make a person very sick and even to buy the medicine is very expensive or to get to the hospital can be too far away from some villages. Your donation will assist us to purchase these nets and help the children of Uganda - today's future, tomorrows leaders.

We will purchase the correct nets when we arrive in Uganda.
