Make Eddy’s Wedding happen after frustration from the Volcano Eruption in Goma

Hello, my name is Eddy Musoke, a Children's rights, peace building & Conflict Resolution as well as Climate Justice & Environment Activist from the Democratic Republic of Congo living in Kinshasa, its capital city.

I am a former refugee (in Kenya for about two years before dropping the status and joined University) who spent most his life fighting for the betterment of the world, improving and changing lives across the DRC, Africa and the world, as little as we could. Back to my home country after almost 11 years out of it, i found my soulmate and decided to get married out of love and life requirement.

We planned for our wedding since December 2020, paid half of the dowry in February 2021 and saved for our wedding initially planned in June then postponned to the3rd of July this year.

This was again postponed to the 24th of July because this the last and best we were offered. The erruption of the Nyiragongo volcano in my hometown, Goma, where the wedding is to happen, changed all the plans; we used 90% of our saved monies to evacuate family members and friends who were in critical situation, because, of course, we had no choice. out of heart and natural compromise was our support.

Due to some uncomfortable situation, we are not able to postponed the wedding again and thus decided to come out and ask for support since we're out of options. Your support to help our wedding; my future wife Delicia and I, be colourfull and remembered in the simplest way possible.

our initial budget was almost 10,000$ and now we were left with less than 1,500 after the erruption. we have reviewed our budget to the lowest we could so that it can still happen but it is only possible if you all can chip in anything small or big you may find and we shall forever be grateful.

the money will be used as follow:

- Hall, Decoration, Cake, flowers, gown, Tables, chairs and vehicles: 1,500

- Food for 150 people, Catering fees and transport: 800

- Drinks, Transport, Snakcs and Visibility: 781

- Photography & Media (video, etc.): 500

- Payment of the rest of dowry: 1,200

- Flights for two from Kinshasa to Goma, roundtrips; 1540 (770/Person)
