Lucille beats Lung cancer

This is a fundraiser for my mother, Lucille. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma with metastasis to the liver, bone and pericardium since April 2019.

Her first line of treatment was Osimertinib (Tagrisso) 80mg tablets everyday together with radiation to her pelvis. Unfortunately, her lung mass increased in size after 4 months of oral chemotherapy and she experienced enteritis after five sessions of external beam radiation therapy. Both treatment was discontinued after the occurrence of these side effects.

She is currently undergoing her second treatment protocol which is chemotherapy with Pemetrexed (Alimta) every three weeks and praise God her recent chest CT scan showed that the mass has decreased in size.

This drug is now considered her maintenance medication and is to be continued as long as she continues to respond to it. Alimta costs P33,000-P76,000 for every 700mg, which is her required dose.

Her oncologist also recommends that she receive immunotherapy infusion to use her own immune system in fighting the cancer cells. She is eligible to be infused with Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) 100mg and each vial costs P79,000-P157,000.

After every three sessions, she undergoes laboratory tests like chest CT scan and 2D echocardiography to continuously evaluate her response to the medication.

I humbly ask for your prayers and generosity as we continuously obtain her medications along with the tests that she needs to undergo.
