Love in Action: A fundraiser for Lakshmi’s dad

On the morning of the 8th of March my mom woke me up in a panic after not getting a response from my father - who appeared to be napping in the living room and "snoring" loudly. I rushed to his side and tried to shake him awake - but the usual light sleeper my dad is was completely unresponsive to the violent shakes and repeated calls. We called the closest hospital and got them to send an ambulance and within 20 minutes my dad was in the A&E of KPJ Damansara.

After being intubated and an initial CT scan, it was determined that his brain had started bleeding again at random - in 2021 he suffered a Subdural Hemmorage that we believed he was almost completely healed from.

That afternoon he was taken in for a Right Frontal Extraventricular Drainage procedure, and the next morning he regained consciousness - albeit experiencing a little bit of delirium.

After a couple of days, he contracted two infections - one in his lungs and the other, a fungal infection in his blood that was resistant to most antibiotics simultaneously extending his stay in the ICU. At this point, my father has been in the ICU for 26 days.
