Local Music and Art Festival 17

Hello !

I am Hakim Yazid; a student who are currently studying engineering in Selangor, Malaysia. Last year I'm organizing a festival of music and art under the university's music club with collaboration of several NGOs to promote the local music and art culture and as well to create awareness among the people about the misuse of drugs and alcohol in entertainment industry especially in music.

It was held on 4th and 5th of November in my campus ( Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology ). It was planned to get a large amount of sponsorships with vendors from around Selangor to participate for the event. However 3 weeks before the event, our major sponsorship decided to back off their sponsorship as they are not available for the date as they required we organise on December ( but December was our final week ). It's against the University's regulations to make an event during final week.

We failed to find additional sponsorships for the event as we already paid the deposit and many other things for the preparation. Foodtrucks were supposed to be our side income but they decided to not participate the morning before the event. It was chaotic for us and all that we can make was offering stalls or restaurants nearby us to open their stall during our event. We also charge ticket for one of the activity in the event which is a local concert where we called upon some good local indie artists to rock our campus.

With the sum of the rental fees for vendors, sponsorships, ticket price, university donations and exc; we are currently short of in the amount of MYR 2700.00 or converted in USD would be roughly USD 700.00 to settle the debt we've been having. It is only to pay for the PA System rental. We only managed to pay half and we're still short half of it.
