New Father, New Kidney, New Hope. Help Angel's Medical Fund.

Putting on a brave face. That's my brother, Angel III. Known to close friends and family as the energetic Little Angel who has the most amazing zest for life. My name is Charmaine and I need your help.

Our family received terrible news of both my brothers being diagnosed with end stage kidney failure last 2015. Little had we known that the itchy skin disorder diagnosed by doctors in Canada experienced by Angel in his early grade school days was not just a derma problem but already a symptom of kidney disease. My daughter and I share this hereditary renal disease with my brother.

Angel who has been a dialysis patient for the last 4.5 years (twice a week) has been given a 2nd chance on life on April 9, 2019 through a kidney transplant at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI). We have been waiting for a donor for 4.5 years as his blood type (AB+) is quite rare to find a match with. The kidney was awarded to him and harvested from Taytay Rizal and Angel was admitted immediately. The transplant was a success and his creatinine is gradually going down.

As the days go by, our hospital bill is piling up. The hospitalization costs which includes the laboratories, professional fees of the army of doctors, the private nurses who helped him prevent infection and his anti rejection pills which will be his lifetime medication will ensure that his new kidney will adapt to his body. Just like other kidney transplants, we expect a bill of Php1.5M to 1.8M.

The family has been under financial strain since last April 2018.

I am knocking on your generous hearts to give Little Angel a 2nd chance for a better prolonged quality of life with his kids; Mateo (2 months old) and Cassandra who just turned 1 year old last March.

It's a very humbling experience to ask for financial assistance from friends or strangers but we need to at least try and do whatever we can to give him a better life.

Every cent will go a long way here in the Philippines.
