There’s an amazing organisation in QLD called ‘The Storybook Farm - Sacred Animal Garden’ that takes in and cares for special needs animals of all kinds as well as providing support for the families of pets living with a disability.
Storybook Farm is in dire need of support - not only are they desperately short of funds to care for the animals (vet bills, medication, mobility/rehabilitation equipment, special pet food, bedding etc in addition to meeting the ongoing costs for rent and upkeep), they are battling to find a new home as the lease expires on their current property.
With 2 sausage dogs myself and the knowledge I have of their vulnerability to being paralysed because of their shape and breed, it warms my heart to see how these people are making such a difference to the lives of animals in need.
I’m running in the SMH half marathon in Sydney on May 20 and would love to try and raise some funds for these guys to hopefully help them keep doing the amazing work they do.
Check them out here:
I hope my run can go some of the way to help keep them running.
Anything rattling around In your pockets is appreciated and in turn I’ll push this ageing body as much as I can to make you and the animals proud.
