I recently came across an orphan project called the The Little Angels Needy Children and Orphan Project in Uganda, which was founded in 2012 by Duncan Musinguzi Nelson. The project is committed to improving the lives of children, and offering them an education and a higher standard of living. Little Angels Uganda has both nursery and primary school, with classes going up to primary 7, which is a last class in the primary education system of Uganda which allows one to qualify to go to secondary/high school. There are 10 classrooms and 16 teachers, who teach Mathematics,Social Studies,English,Science,Religion together with life skills like learning to swim,soccer,rugby,art/music/drumming and farming. The education does not only follow the Ugandan curriculum but gives great attention to developing manners, respect and equality from a young age.The school is not only a place of learning, but also a comfortable family and home; a place the children can look forward to going to regardless of their external living situations.

There are currently 400 registered needy children under the care of Little Angels Needy Children & Orphan Project. These children are between the ages of 3 and 14 years old.

Little Angels teaches and feeds all students two meals each day. Most children that attend school return home to only one small meal or no meal at all. One of their biggest accomplishments in the last year has been purchasing their own transport motor boat through donations. They can now pick up, and drop off over 200 students between two trips every morning and afternoon.

My aim is to travel to Uganda for one month to volunteer and help in any way I can in my time there. I am required before visiting, to orgainse a form of fundraising in order to create awareness and also help the projects survival through the donations we raise together.

Our donations will help attain at least some of the basic needs of life for these children.Sponsorship of $50 a month means food, hygiene, bedding, clothing and education for all students. The project accepts and welcomes the donation of school supplies, mattresses, beds, mosquito nets, bedding, clothing, footwear and hygiene products. Donations of food, clothing, footwear, paints, books and any helpful resources that will help us educate and grow. Though, quite often, most of their donors opt for the monetary form, citing the long processes and exorbitant prices incurred in sending physical materials so, its a matter of whichever is easier and most convenient for you.

All donations will greatly assist in helping us achieve this goal of creating an opportunity for more children to grow and receive an education in a safe environment.Every donation helps and means the absolute world to the Little Angels of Uganda, and here are some examples of what they can provide:

$20 can buy as a bag of cement, to continuing building more classrooms.

$50 can buy fuel to transport all children to and from school

$70 can feed all 361 students including teachers, all two meals a day

$130 can pay a professional teachers wage for the month

All sponsorship donations go towards feeding, clothing and housing not only one child but the entire schools foundation on a whole. When one student is sponsored, they all benefit.

All information can be found on littleangelsuganda.org .There you can also find the list of items of the basic necessities needed by the project, together with the cost of the items(such as food items, school supplies etc) and the amounts required. You can also donate directly on the site.

The target I wish to reach is 4,215,600 Ugandan Shillings which is equivalent to €1,000.

EVERY LITTLE HELPS, and together we CAN make a difference.

“Childhood is precious and this is the beginning of building a new reality and better life for the underprivileged children of my village”
- Mr. Duncan Musinguzi

I thank you for the time you have taken to read up on this cause, and thank you in advance for any donations contributed.
