Lithuanian Genealogical Records Transcribed

After almost 10 years of experience in private genealogical research of Lithuanian ancestry, we realized that there are thousands of people with Lithuanian ancestry, who want to know more about their Lithuanian roots. They are the descendants of Lithuanian refugees, that have little to no knowledge of Lithuanian language, and otherwise - Russian and Polish languages, that were used to record birth, death and marriage records in various periods of Lithuanian history of war and occupation. The only option they have is private genealogical research services, or historical archive research services, that without prior knowledge about exact locations, names and dates - can cost thousands of euros and take up years. We want to offer the option of a research database that will contain information from the church books preserved in Lithuanian archives. This information will be transcribed, translated, uploaded and easily searchable in our database. We will provide tips and suggestions about the correct forms of searching. We would strive to create an intuitive search help system and online support for those who don't know where to begin. But our main goal is to transcribe-translate-upload and make available genealogical information of Lithuanian church books from the 20th and 19th centuries, and most importantly - make it simple to find out more about your Lithuanian ancestry. We hope it will help to preserve the Lithuanian heritage and tell the story of those peoples that have deep roots in our small but resilient country. Preserve Lithuanian History!
