Let’s make Christmas happen for the Batak Tribe in Palawan

HI! My name is Ursel D. Murillo-Laureno. I am from Iligan City. I am a school principal of Bethany Baptist Academy of Iligan. A Registered Nurse and Licensed teacher.

My story started when I went to volunteer as short term missionary nurse/teacher in Palawan under the leadership of Doc Wingky Villanueva. In fact, I first discovered my love for teaching because of this experience, and pursued Education since then.

There I first met this lovely boy, Prime. I first met him way back 2011 as shown in the first pic when I think he was 6 yrs old. I fell in love with this little boy instantaneously and have been supporting his education and his (Batak tribe) community since 2012.

I love him like a mother loves his son and his community I always cherish. I have been coming almost every year just to visit them and was even scheduled to go back there again last April but COVID had another plan. I know COVID has really took its toll on us, how much more in a far flung area where you have to cross 11 rivers just to get there.

On my birthday, I want to raise $1,000 (P50,000) for Prime and his community. The goal is to reach this amount on or before December, so it can be a Christmas love gift for everyone there.

If the current health situation would allow me, I want to be there to personally give them P500 worth of food pack per family. If not, my friends in Palawan will do it for me. I assure you that money spent for Prime and his community will be worth every centavo and proper liquidation of expenses will be posted here or sent to every partners.
