Let’s help Joseph in his medical battle

Hello, everyone!

We are knocking to your heart to help our cousin, Joseph, who is currently battling with blood and lung infection. He is 34 years old. He is admitted in a local hospital in the Philippines for almost a month now.

He used to be the breadwinner of his family with two siblings. He used to be a health worker but lost his job when his health began to fail. All the family savings were used up especially when his 64-year old father had a congestive heart failure in March 2021 and died in July of the same year. While still recovering from financial burden, his mom had ruptured aneurysm in June 2022 where she got hospitalized before she finally succumbed two weeks after.

Having no stable job after the demise of their parents, he worked part-time jobs to support his elder brother who has mental condition and to pay off the debts they acquired during the hospitalization and funeral of their parents.

In January 2023, he was first hospitalized due to lung infection. Two weeks later, we brought him again to the hospital for his hernia repair. This time he was also diagnosed with depression disorder. He was advised to have rest for a couple of months but due to extreme necessity he returned searching for work after three weeks. In November of the same year, he was readmitted due to another infection. All of his finances were made possible by donations by relatives and friends. We also conducted live-selling in Facebook to raise funds for his medication and daily needs.

However, we least expected that he will be back in the hospital this February 2024 with the worst condition he will get into. He had been complaining for headache and vomiting during the second week of February and had grand seizure on February 15. This prompted us to bring him to the hospital. While in the hospital, he also acquired various infections leading him to be also treated for respiratory failure. He has low level of consciousness now.

We have no idea how long is he going stay in the hospital especially in the ICU but the doctors told us that he might be there for a longer time to achieve recovery. He is in dire need for financial assistance to cover his meds, supplies and lab tests that are not available in the hospital.
