I first want to thank you for the overwhelming response to the Fundly fundraising effort in the wake of Wyatt's passing. With close to a thousand donors, we were able to do the following: pay estate settlement fees, family counseling and secure housing for a year including all monthly expenses. Because of your contributions we can start fresh, with a clean slate and no outstanding financial burden. Because of your thoughts, prayers and positivity, we move forward with peace and gratitude. We love you all so much.

In the immediate term, however, we face one unanticipated barrier. We were recently notified that Takota is being dismissed from his current school. It's a disastrous blow this late in the year — it allows us very few options to proceed in a way suitable or constructive for either him or the family. And while we have a strategy in place for his education fees in 2016-2017, we find ourselves in the position of having to arrange for a special-needs school for the 2015-2016 school year on very short notice. The costs, as you can imagine, are significant.

It's because of this that we are creating an auction for many of Wyatt's most valued belongings -- items that I know he would want his dearest friends to remember him by. I can't tell you how hard it is to ask more from a group that has already given so much. But if you're so inclined, please have a look at an old friend's mementos and creative catalogue. It could be a great opportunity to take a piece of the man we all loved home with you.
