Hi friends, my name is Ignacio Munoz Martinez. I am eight months old, and I live in Curico, Chile, with my mom, dad, and our dog, Kira. I was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 (SMA). This is the most severe type.

SMA is a degenerative genetic disease that affects the neurons in charge of moving my body. I will progressively lose strength to move not just my limbs and head but also my ability to eat and breathe. My disease does not have a cure. However, there are treatments for it, and this will slow down the progression of SMA. letting me live longer with a better quality of life, so I can spend more time in this world with my parents (I am an only child).

Without treatment, my life expectancy is LESS THAN TWO YEARS! Unfortunately, nowadays in my home country, Chile, no insurance or government program will help us pay for the treatments that I need.

I need a medication called Zolgensma, which is the most expensive treatment in the world! , and it costs 2.1 million dollars. PLEASE help me achieve this goal, so it can prolong my life with my family and they can watch me grow and be a happy kid.
